Parlington Hall :: The Estate :: Oil Paintings, by Anthony Christian

Two further views only yards away from the those on the previous page, but contemplating different aspects of the scenery, this demonstrates how all around you is a wealth of beauty that nature provides in abundance.

The two views on this page are both along the western boundary of the field I described on the previous page as the original fields for grazing Sir Thomas's horses. Here we are looking south in the upper painting and north in the lower, the wall has largely disappeared over the decades and the defining boundary is a rickety old fence, hardly an improvement on the wall. The svelte green sward leads you to the style on Parlington Lane, hidden by the trees, before the style you can just pick out the large sycamore we saw in the first picture, by the boundary wall/fence.

The lower painting looks along the boundary to the north side of the field and on up the rise, but out of view, is the main driveway to the Triumphal Arch. the line of eight trees obscuring the driveway, feature in another scene, so I will explain them later.
